Our ultrasound machine allows us to explore and image many soft tissue structures within the body.

Ultrasound performed on the heart is also known as an Echocardiogram and they are usually performed when the patient is conscious.

On other parts of the body, including the abdomen, an ultrasound may be performed conscious or under sedation/anaesthetic to allow a more relaxed and deep positioning of the probe – and a still patient!

Ultrasound is especially helpful to help diagnose conditions in patients that are at a higher risk of sedation due to underlying health conditions.
